Who We Are

About Twiddy & Strand

We didn’t start with a business plan. We started with a promise to work hard, show up, and always have each other’s backs.

We grew up around hard work. Raised by parents who led by example. Shaped by a baseball coach who taught us discipline on and off the field—and gave us our first construction jobs, hauling materials, cleaning up sites, and learning how to earn our keep. He expected a lot and always gave us opportunities to prove ourselves. He trusted us enough to let us fail, but had the confidence we wouldn’t.

That trust pushed us to learn skills far beyond our years, to take ownership, and to carry ourselves like professionals before we ever wore the title.

We were regulars in our high school shop room, too. Under the steady eye of Mr. Mac, we continued to put our skills to the test. He saw something in us before we saw it in ourselves, signing us up for competitions, giving us opportunities to build, and challenging us to take the trade seriously.

By the time we graduated, we hadn’t just learned how to build. We’d learned how to work. How to lead. How to earn trust.

We’d built a reputation, a rhythm, and a way of working that stuck. Today, Twiddy & Strand carries that same standard forward. Honest work. Real trust. Built from the ground up.

Twiddy & Strand isn’t just a business name. It’s a bond.

It stands for a partnership that started long before the paperwork—a friendship that turned into a calling, and a calling that turned into a company. Colton and Joe grew up side by side, looking out for each other, and showing up no matter what. That instinct—to have each other’s backs—has always been there. Now, it’s part of how they lead every job.

Their logo, the mountains, is a quiet tribute to that legacy. Inspired by the The Brothers Mountains in Washington, it’s a symbol of strength, steadiness, and brotherhood.

Work With Us

Colton Twiddy, Co-Founder

Colton was raised on the water. His dad was a commercial fisherman, part of a long family line that made their living through early mornings, unpredictable conditions, and hard, honest work.

That’s where Colton’s work ethic was forged. He eventually found his way to the trades, drawn to the rhythm of building and the satisfaction of a job well done. He earned dual degrees in Construction Management and Architectural Design from the University of Washington, where he graduated with academic honors, including the Husky 100.

That foundation—equal parts grit and precision—is what he brings to every project.

From technical planning to client communication, Colton leads with clarity, calm, and a deep respect for the process.

Joe Strand, Co-Founder

Some of Joe’s earliest memories are of watching his dad, a carpenter, work with care and craftsmanship—fixing up the family home, building by hand, and teaching by example.

Though his dad passed away at an early age, the lessons stuck. That legacy of hard work, humility, and pride in the process is something Joe carries with him every day.

After earning his Construction Management degree from Central Washington University, Joe dove headfirst into the field—leading teams, managing builds, and gaining a reputation for being dependable, grounded, and all-in from day one.

Whether he's coordinating subs or swinging a hammer himself, he brings the same presence, precision, and follow-through to every site.
