The VanAlstyne Remodel represents the largest residential project to date for Twiddy & Strand Construction — a complete reimagining of a Snoqualmie home from the foundation up. Spanning nearly a year, this remodel involved lifting the entire home, building a new lower level, adding a third floor, and finishing every inch with custom detailing and architectural precision.

Project Story
The VanAlstyne Remodel was ambitious from the start. Working under UpState Construction, Twiddy & Strand handled nearly every phase of construction.
First, the entire house was lifted off its foundation and we began building a brand-new bottom floor beneath it. From there, we removed the existing roof, added a full third story, and then rebuilt the roof to crown the expanded structure.
Throughout the process, we self-performed everything from framing and sheeting to exterior enclosure, porches, trim, and architectural details. On the interior, our team completed kitchen installations, custom cabinetry, pocket doors, flooring, and trim — creating a cohesive transformation from top to bottom.
This project challenged us to coordinate multiple trades, manage tight timelines, and deliver custom detailing at scale. The result is one of our most dramatic before-and-after transformations and a true showcase of Twiddy & Strand’s capabilities.
